ARE YOU A CANDIDATE for beauty mark and freckles
Is everyone a candidate? The short answer is no. While it’s suitable for most people, there are certain reasons why we can’t treat everyone. Before undergoing treatment, clients are always made aware that certain contraindications can prevent us from proceeding. These include:
- High blood pressure or heart conditions
- Taking blood-thinners such as aspirin or similar medication
- Diabetes
- Pregnant or lactating
- Glaucoma
- Herpes simplex
- Certain skin conditions e.g. rashes, blisters, psoriasis, or eczema
- Taking steroids such as cortisone, Accutane, Retin-A or Renova
- Allergy to makeup
- Acute acne in the treatment area
- Susceptibility to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation
- Hypertrophic scarring or keloids
- Spider veins or a birthmark in the area they want to be treated
- • Blood disorder e.g. sickle cell anemia, hemophilia, or a platelet disorder
For some of the above, we may also ask your client to provide written authorization from your doctor before we can proceed.

THE HEALING PERIOD for beauty marks and freckles
- Please note that immediately following your procedure, the tattooed area will appear to be anywhere from 20-40% darker in color and 15% thicker.
- This can last up to 10 days after the treatment while the initial healing process takes place. The treated area may feel a bit like sunburn afterwards but there should be minimal discomfort.
- During the initial healing period, there should be minimal scabbing or flaking of the skin. If there is some scabbing or flaking, do not pick, and allow the scab or dry skin to come off on its own.
PATIENCE IS THE KEY
- The complete healing process will take about 6-8 weeks, at which time the true color of the tattoo is evident. During this process, your tattoo will soften and lighten.
- Be patient, even if you think too much color has been lost, as your skin is still regenerating and naturally exfoliating.
- Wait at least 6 weeks to see the true color, as it seems to take on new strength, and it is only after 6-8 weeks that your touch-up/adjustment can be done.
